It’s funny how things change over time.  Do you remember the marketing phrase “Is it live or is it Memorex?”  Memorex was a company that made blank audio cassettes to record music and such.  They said that the recording was so good, that you couldn’t tell the difference between the live performer and a Memorex recording.

These days, there is a similar expression with a very different underlying technology.  The phrase is “Is it me or is it AI?”

As the author of a productivity book, I’ve been telling people for years, to write a blog and use it as the basis for a webinar. Then, use the webinar recording to create a YouTube channel, and then strip off the audio to create a podcast.

Well, I’m finally walking the talk!

Over the years, I’ve written hundreds of blogs on IT management, management in general, and other related topics.  I really wanted to record myself reading them to create both a podcast and a YouTube channel.  The issue is that I’m moderately dyslexic and can’t read it well enough for you to want to listen to it.

In comes AI!  Using best-of-breed AI tools, I have one tool that reads my post and sounds exactly like me.  I have a second AI tool that I trained to look and move like me. I fed my written post into the audio AI tool to create an MP3 for my podcast, and then fed the MP3 into a second tool to create an MP4, for my YouTube channel.

The links to my podcast and YouTube channel are:

Please listen and watch them (and maybe please subscribe 😊 )

Now my question to you is “Is it me or is it AI?”  There may actually be some of each!
