Class Description:
This 8-week certificate class provides IT professionals with the essential interpersonal and team communication skills needed to enhance their job performance and prepare them for formal and non-formal leadership roles. Participants will learn strategies for effective technical communication with non-technical stakeholders, active listening techniques, running effective meetings, storytelling and presentation skills, AI-based communication tools, and more.

Prerequisites:
None, but prior IT leadership experience is highly suggested

Class Logistics:

  • 8 weeks in length, with a new IT leadership based topic each week
  • Each week includes
    • 1-hour virtual, instructor-led group coaching sessions are on Mondays 2:00pm – 3:00pm US Eastern time (EST))
      • Discussion and Q&A on the week’s instructional video and topic in general
      • Q&A on previous topics, IT industry trends, key IT events, and other related topics
      • Group coaching on current IT challenges and career related topics
    • 45-minute on-demand instructional video and student guide on the weekly topic
    • Optional review quiz providing immediate feedback and instruction
    • Optional curated and supplemental reading

Cost:
The cost is $995 per student, which includes:

  • Monthly Alumni Continuous Learning Newsletters
  • 16 PDUs (Professional Development Units) to be used toward ongoing educational requirements of other certifications (if applicable)

  2. Concepts and Strategies: Emotional intelligence, active listening, asking purposeful questions, and more
  3. Non-IT communication: Communicating technical concepts to non-technical executives
  4. Storytelling: Creating influential and effective business-related stories
  5. Presentations: Designing, building, and delivering high quality and effective presentations
  6. Running meetings: Staff, one-on-one, status, on-site and virtual venues, ice breakers, controlling the room, and more
  7. AI-assisted communication: Using AI-based tools to enhance interpersonal communication
  8. Next Steps: Continuing your journey of interpersonal and team communication growth
